South Shore Warriors 17U compete at AAU Nationals

The South Shore Warriors 17u-Tzimorangas team, which captured the Mass AAU state title competed in the AAU Nationals at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL this July.

The team went 2-1 in pool play defeating YBI-Nola of Louisiana and Rising Stars from Florida and losing the Southern Illinois Select during the pool play portion of the event.  That record secured the #2 seed in their pool and into the Championship bracket, where they faced the JBBA Bulls of Florida.

The game was close after the Warriors fought back from a 13 point deficit to tie the game and went back and forth until the end losing the game 49-42 and putting an end to a remarkable spring season for the team.

South Shore Warriors 17U win Mass AAU State Title

The South Shore Warriors 17U team compete in the recent Massachusetts AAU State tournament and came away with the State Title.  The team went 3-1 in the event, held at Mass Premier in Foxboro and took home the title with a 67-56 win over the RFK Renegades, lead by Chris Tzimorangas’ 21 points and 11 each from Sam Whittle and Brian Maguire.  The team opened up the tournament with a double overtime loss to the RFK Renegades 59-54, but bounced back to defeat the PAL of North Central Mass 59-58.  In the semifinal game on Sunday, the Warriors defeat the MYCW 56-47 behind a team effort.  Dylan DeBettencourt and Jalen Lopes provided some much needed defensive pressure, while Sal Sillari and Cyfief Kenku added to the weekend scoring. Cam Jones and John Deeley provided a spark when they entered the games and contributed to the team success.

This was the 4th tournament title for the team in the 2016 Spring AAU season, and the team is scheduled to compete in the 2016 AAU International Championship in Orlando, FL in late July.

11th Grade-Tzimorangas wins back to back to back

The South Shore Warriors 11th Grade-Tzimorangas team won back to back to back Championships in the South Shore Warriors Spring Fling,  Silver City Sharks Showcase and South Shore Wolfpack Battle in the Den tournaments.

The team beat the AMA in the Spring Fling championship game by a score of 42-41,  defeated Dana Barros Basketball Club in the Showcase by a score of 56-49 and defeated the host South Shore Wolfpack 39=38 in the Battle in the Wolves Den final.
